March 4 – April 8

March Reading Challenge – ICA Dragon Competition!

Dear Parents and Students,
We are excited to announce our March Reading Challenge for all K–5 classrooms! Reading is one of the most important skills our students can develop. It strengthens vocabulary, builds comprehension, increases confidence, and helps children grow into strong, independent learners. Most importantly, it creates meaningful time for families to read and grow together.

From March 4 – April 8, students are invited to:

  • Read 20 minutes each night
  • Complete 34 nights of reading. (One free pass night is allowed!)
  • Parent/guardian and student sign at the bottom of the reading log before turning it in
  • Turn in the completed log on April 8th.

Students may read independently or read together with a parent/guardian — both count toward the goal!

The Reward

Every student who completes the challenge will be entered into a classroom drawing for a chance to win an ICA Dragon!

  • One ICA Dragon prize will be awarded in each participating classroom.

Participation itself is a wonderful reward as students strengthen their reading skills, build confidence, and develop positive reading habits.

Why Participate?

Reading just 20 minutes a night can:

  • Improve fluency and comprehension
  • Expand vocabulary
  • Build focus and stamina
  • Encourage a lifelong love of learning

The choice to participate is yours, but we hope your family will join us in making reading a priority this month.

Together, we can help our young readers grow stronger every day.

Happy Reading!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Ives
