Dragons In The Woods is in its 13th season! We are excited to be back in 2026! The race will again be run on the majestic trails of Birchfield Park, in Holt. This challenging trail run is great for the seasoned runner or for families who want to walk/run together. All proceeds from the race benefit Island City Academy, a charter school in Eaton Rapids. Come out and join us Saturday, October 17th and compete for your chance to win one of four, awesome trophies!
Pricing - $25 until 10/04, then $30 until 10/16. Be sure to register early for a great discount and to be guaranteed a race shirt! T-shirts are guaranteed until 10/08, supplies available as they last after that date.
Group/Family pricing available - Sign up to 4 participants for only $85 until 10/04. Price increases to $95 from 10/05 until 10/16.
Awards for the Overall and Masters (40 and up), male and female. Pint glasses to the top three male and female in each age group.
Age groups: 12 and under, 13-16, 17-20, 21-25, 26-30, 31-35, 36-40, 41-45, 46-50, 51-55, 56-60, 61 and over.
Packet Pick-up will begin at 8:00 am day of the race
The race will be professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results will be posted during the race and live on this website.
Get the word out to your friends about this great race! When you refer 3 or more participants you'll get a refund of up to $10.00! Details provided at checkout.
If you would like to support our school and get a free entry to the race donate $50. When you register for the race your entry will be free! Simply Sign Up and follow the steps to register and on the donation screen enter $50. ($25 discount applied during checkout. Valid until October 4th, and then it's $25 off your entry fee of $30) Donate $25 and you'll receive a $10 discount off your 5k race entry fee.

The mission of Island City Academy is to improve pupil achievement through a shared vision between talented teachers, parents, and students whose primary goal is academic excellence coupled with moral standards and expectations.
We believe we can achieve this goal by providing the best curriculum in seven "core" subjects of: mathematics, science, history, geography, language arts, physical education, fine arts, along with moral education accomplished through standards of conduct and curriculum.

About ICA
Island City Academy is located in Eaton Rapids, Michigan. ICA is a Kindergarten - 8th grade, tuition-free, public school open to any student residing in the state of Michigan. ICA currently has 210 students with an average class size of 24.
The academy program is designed to provide the best curriculum in eight core subjects of: mathematics, science, history, geography, language arts, fine arts, and physical education, coupled with moral standards and expectations. ICA is currently in the 81st percentile in Michigan's Top-to-Bottom ranking.
